In a significant step towards promoting inclusive education and empowering learners with disabilities, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indian Oil) has partnered with the NGO Save The Quest to launch the project, “Quest: Tech-enabled Platform for Quality Education of Learners with Disabilities.” This initiative reflects Indian Oil’s unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its dedication to fostering equal opportunities for all.

The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Indian Oil and Save The Quest on 27th January 2025 at the Punjab State Office. The event marked a milestone in the journey towards bridging the accessibility gap in education for students with special needs.

About the Project: Quest

The project, aptly named “Quest,” aims to revolutionize how education is accessed by learners with disabilities. By leveraging technology, the initiative will develop a user-friendly, tech-enabled platform to provide quality education tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.

This platform is envisioned as a comprehensive solution that goes beyond conventional educational tools. It will incorporate assistive technologies, interactive content, and adaptive learning features to address the diverse learning styles and challenges faced by differently-abled students. The platform will also facilitate online resources and personalized guidance to ensure an enriching learning experience for every individual.

Providing Scribes for Students

An integral part of the project is the provision of scribes for students with disabilities. Many learners, particularly those with visual impairments, motor disabilities, or other challenges that impact their ability to write, face significant barriers in educational assessments. To address this, the initiative will include a dedicated system to match students with trained scribes who can assist them during examinations and academic activities.

This provision is expected to not only support students academically but also boost their confidence and sense of independence, enabling them to excel in their studies without limitations.

A Partnership for Change

The partnership between Indian Oil and Save The Quest underscores the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change. Indian Oil, as one of India’s leading corporations, has long been at the forefront of CSR initiatives that contribute to community welfare and development. By teaming up with Save The Quest, an NGO with a proven track record in promoting education and inclusion for the differently-abled, Indian Oil has taken a decisive step toward creating a more equitable society.

Speaking at the MoA signing, a senior official from Indian Oil stated:

“At Indian Oil, we believe in empowering communities and fostering inclusive growth. Through this partnership with Save The Quest, we aim to provide learners with disabilities the tools and resources they need to overcome barriers and achieve their dreams. Education is a fundamental right, and we are committed to ensuring that no child is left behind.”

Founder of Save The Quest, Mr. Saif Ahmad Khan added:

“This collaboration with Indian Oil is a landmark moment for us. Together, we will create a transformative platform that not only delivers quality education but also empowers differently-abled learners to lead independent and fulfilling lives.”

Impact on the Community

The Quest project is expected to have a far-reaching impact on the education sector, particularly for learners with disabilities. By providing tech-enabled resources and trained scribes, the initiative aims to:

  • Bridge the educational accessibility gap for differently-abled students.
  • Enhance learning outcomes through personalized and interactive tools.
  • Foster self-reliance and confidence among students with disabilities.
  • Promote inclusive education as a cornerstone of societal development.

Additionally, the project aligns with the Government of India’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4, which emphasizes inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

Why This Initiative Matters?

Education is a powerful tool for transforming lives, yet millions of students with disabilities in India face systemic barriers that limit their potential. Initiatives like Quest are crucial in addressing these challenges by integrating technology and human support to create a level playing field.

By empowering differently-abled students, Indian Oil and Save The Quest are not only supporting individual learners but also contributing to the larger goal of creating a society where inclusivity is the norm, not the exception.

Looking Ahead

The MoA signing ceremony at the Punjab State Office marks the beginning of what promises to be a transformative journey for countless learners with disabilities. Indian Oil and Save The Quest are committed to ensuring the success of the Quest project and expanding its reach to impact as many students as possible.

As the project unfolds, it serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and compassion in shaping a brighter future for all. Through Quest, Indian Oil and Save The Quest are proving that when corporate responsibility meets social purpose, remarkable change is possible.
