As the much-awaited mega trailer of O’Romeo dropped today, excitement around the film reached a new high. The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial stars Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in lead roles, with an ensemble cast that includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Farida Jalal, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani, along with Vikrant Massey in a special appearance.

Amid the growing buzz, producer Sajid Nadiadwala spoke candidly about the unpredictable nature of cinema, his long-standing relationship with storytelling, and the quiet faith that has guided him through more than four decades in the film industry.

‘You Fall in Love With the Story’

Known for championing films across genres and generations, Nadiadwala dismissed the idea of being confined to a particular kind of cinema. Responding to questions about his return to romance, he said he never consciously plans such shifts.

“No, I do not feel that way. I have been making films for many years, and honestly, we never really know,” he shared. “Some journalist friends asked me, ‘How did you come back to a romantic film? That’s not your kind of cinema.’ I reminded them that I made Highway 10 years ago and Chhichhore, which won a National Award, five years ago.”

For Nadiadwala, the process is simple yet deeply personal. “Once you start making a film, you fall in love with the story. But reaching the audience is something you can never fully control,” he added.

Every Friday, a Prayer

Reflecting on the uncertainty that comes with every release, the veteran producer spoke about a ritual that has remained unchanged for 40 years.

“Every Friday for the last four decades, we’ve been praying that this Friday should be magical. Now even my son has joined me. It feels like I’ll have to keep praying every Friday for the next 40 years too.”

Despite meticulous preparation, Nadiadwala believes some things are beyond human control.

“We do everything we can—work on the script, performances, readings, choose the best locations and promote the film. But in the end, whether the film becomes a hit or not is in God’s hands. That’s what cinema is all about.”

About the Film

Sajid Nadiadwala presents O’Romeo, a film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film is slated for a theatrical release on 13 February 2026.
